Dear friends, my name is Dashaun, and I can't wait to meet you. Here is my story.
I was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, and life wasn't easy. I've been incarcerated for close to 7 years, but the loneliness of this place makes it feel like forever. I won't get into my guilt or innocence, but I will tell you that valuable lessons have been learned, and this has been a life-changing experience for me.
I've spent my time constructively and jumbled through the many obstacles placed before me. I've managed to remain focused on self-improvement and education. My days consist of studying, reading, working out, and listening to music. I've earned my high school diploma and am currently taking college-level correspondence courses and studying to take my commercial driving license exam. Long-haul traveling is one of my future goals. With only 36 months remaining, I also hope to one day be a business owner who can offer employment and mentorship to kids who have to navigate the same social conditions and environment I had.
People who know me will say I'm kind, respectful, responsible, and loyal to a fault. They also will say I can be a mischievous jokester, but I'll never laugh at you, just with you.
If you are sincere about friendship, I simply hope to make a deep and lasting connection with strong-minded, thinking, mature adults. Age, race, size, or shape is not important.
I hope this is the first step to a fun and long-lasting friendship and an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I look forward to meeting you. Who can I come home to?
Sincerely,
Dashaun
