Few things can I offer from within the confines of a prison cell, but that which I do offer includes my time and attention. I'm seeking a few meaningful, lasting connections with those who merit my efforts. First, I ask that you set aside any preconceived notions about prisoners -- we're all bound, after a fashion; some merely carry their prisons wherever they go. I will not allow my current circumstances to dictate my outlook on life. Rather, I invite you to dispense with any condescension and meet this bearded man on equal footing.
I'm a compassionate person of rare depth and sincerity, but I'm going through a dark chapter in my life and would welcome the support of a kindred spirit. I have no interest in fairweather friends; trust is easily broken and seldom earned with me, but I am fiercely loyal to those who forge company with me in blood, sweat, or tears.
I'm a dreamer, a college graduate, and a lifelong traveler -- living in such places as Russia (gavaryu po-Russki, yesli udobnyee), Kazakhstan, China, Germany, Finland, and several more. The breadth of those experiences alone could fill many a book! But I have many more destinations I still hope to cross off my bucket list, and I always relish hearing the stories of a fellow wanderer. That said, I've seen the world through many different eyes and you will find me to be a very open-minded person. The word "freak" has no part in my vocabulary, and I empathize with society's misfits for being needlessly discriminated against and tragically misunderstood. I'm not as concerned about where you've been as I am about where you're going, and I encourage reaching for the best things this life has to offer.
I find the best escape within the pages of a good book -- send me a list of your favorites! I'm also an aspiring author, and my favorite punctuation mark is the eMdash. I have a soft spot for poetry, and music is my lifeblood. I'm not an addict or a bird with a broken wing; coffee and chocolate are about as extreme as my indulgences get -- unless I find mYself in favorable company ;)
Let's clear the air with regard to my incarceration. My crimes are a matter of public record, but not a point of discussion with strangers. What I've been through is my own story, and I will answer for it. I will tell you, however, that my most serious conviction is that behavior is not synonymous with identity. I've met many good people harshly judged for bad days. Those who truly know me will tell you of the goodness in my heart. Fulfillment is found when I'm engaged in helping others.
Still with me so far? Then I want to hear from you -- take a chance and reach out already! It may be one of the best, most irresponsible decisions you've ever made! Impulsivity is that savory zest in the course of life; let not such moments slip your grasp. You can break the ice with me by messaging online via JPay -- though nothing beats the nostalgia of a handwritten letter. I prefer correspondence of substance and promise there's no such thing as too long a message or letter!
The rest is all part of the adventure... if you're brave enough ;)
