Hi there! My name is Jeff, and I am serving a life sentence at the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem, OR as a result of my own dysfunctional thought process and bad decision-making over 30 years ago.
Throughout my prison sentence, I've been involved in a wide variety of cognitive programming as well as education. These programs have provided me with the insight needed for me to make positive changes in my life and become the right-thinking, prosocial, unbiased, and honest person that I am today.
I am deeply remorseful for the unnecessary harm that I've caused to other people, so it is imperative to me that I am in service to others. Being in service has become a way of life for me, it is one of the many ways of giving back. The debt I owe is to society and I owe it to my own spirit to pay that debt. Therefore, I will always be in service to others.
My passions are drawing and studying Spanish. I'm reaching out hoping to find a friend who is pro-education. And to be completely honest, my greatest hope is to connect with someone who would be willing to help me finance two college classes per year. I am mainly interested in studying Spanish and Business. These are areas of interest to me, but unfortunately, they are out of my reach. Ultimately, I would like to pursue a bachelor's degree. Classes, however, have been an overall hit and miss for me.
I'd like to meet someone that I could get to know well and one with whom I could establish a meaningful friendship. I'm not concerned about physical characteristics, such as size or age, skin color, or gender, because that's all surface level to me. A friendship goes much deeper than what's on the surface. Everybody sees a person's physical being, but not everybody sees the person. I want to see the person beneath the surface. I believe that's where the real person lives.
Ideally, the person I'd like to connect with would share a couple of traits with me: being non-judgmental as well as being honest. Those are respectful traits that I value.
If you would like to connect with me, I would love to hear from you. We can write letters, emails, phone calls, or video visits. I look forward to meeting you.
