My name is Angel Luis Valentine, but my friends call me LV. I am Puerto Rican, 32 years of age, and I'm currently incarcerated in Pennsylvania for a nonviolent drug offense. I have 5 years in, as of today, with a passion for music and a love for learning. I work in the library as an aide, helping others in my facility. I'm in college at Eastern University, where I'm receiving my Associate's degree in Liberal Arts. 3.7 GPA, about to start the fourth semester. In my downtime, I listen to music, write, read, watch TV, and play basketball when I'm not too busy with my studies. Also, I cut hair on the block when I can.
So I have a few years left on my sentence, and I'm focused on myself, working to become a better person so that when I reenter society, I can continue on my path to success and true happiness. I aim to earn my Bachelor's degree in behavioral health and psychology, to become a counselor and youth advocate upon graduation. Using my past as my strength to help the future, I genuinely want to help others who need help and think there's no other way other than selling drugs or being on the streets. I used to think there was no hope for me, but now I'm grinding in here to put myself into a better position when I return home.
I'm looking for someone I can collaborate with and communicate with via email or phone who shares the same interests as I do. Most people tend to forget about the men who are in here, so I figured I would try this service out and see how it goes. You can contact me on the ConnectNetwork website or app, or write an old-fashioned letter; either way works for me!
