Being here can make it feel like time has stopped, as if I’m repeatedly living the same day. It has given me much more patience. I do miss the unknown that comes with being free. Here, I am very limited in what I can do. When you’re free, the day is unknown and beautiful. I met people who will help me gain more understanding and perspective.

I’m from the Southern Illinois/St Louis area, but I’m excited to meet new people from anywhere with different experiences and stories. I feel we all have experiences to share. I believe that getting a glimpse of someone else’s world is essential to understanding someone truly; we can learn so much from others. I know this is a pause in my life. I continue to try to stay motivated and work until I go home. I’m proud to say I do my best to stay motivated. I try to spread nothing but positive vibes. I realize that it’s a blessing to have someone willing to give me time out of their day.
