Loneliness is at epidemic levels worldwide today. I have been surprised to find this is true for both those living in freedom and those behind bars. I am a lonely person seeking to develop friendships with others who share my experience.
There are a couple of things you should know about me before writing. First, I am serving a life sentence. I know this will deter some, but I hope some will give me a chance. Second, I do not want anything from you except friendship. I will never ask you to do anything for me or to send me anything. Finally, you should know that I am a Christian. I am not the judgmental type, nor am I opposed to writing about people different from me.
If you are still reading, I would like to share that I am an optimistic person who believes in making the most of every situation. Some people do not believe me when I share that my job assignment is encouraging and giving hope to the men in my unit. I feel fortunate to have been given such an opportunity. In my spare time, I enjoy drawing and writing. I specialize in animals and portraits. I write personal essays and poetry.
I ask that you not judge a book by its cover. If you give me a chance, you might be surprised by what you find. Thanks for reading this.
