Hello, Im Chidi Onunkwo, but people call me Maccai. Im Nigerian/American. I caught my murder case at 17 years old and came to TDC at 21. Funny enough, like everybody does when they get locked up, I learned I wasn't too bad with my hands while Incarcerated in Harris County, so I decided to change my life's direction. When I bonded out, I went to a pro gym and started boxing amateur competitively. I never put it down and decided that this was what I would do for the rest of my life. Training 24/7 is one of those things I enjoy; otherwise, I feel like a fish out of water. I aim to succeed, be somebody other than another inmate with a number, and help others. It seems fitting that after all the mistakes I've made over the years, I train and practice patience so that I make every punch count when I get out of here.

I want someone to have my back and ease my mind. Sleep is difficult since my mind is always racing about promises I’ve made and my obligation to succeed, but the pressure is good, and it can create something beautiful like diamonds. It would be nice for someone to ease this pressure on me and keep me leveled.
