Thank you for taking the time to meet me.

I’m an artist who grew up in Maine, and I love nature and being outdoors. I kayak, climb, and ski. I enjoy city life, especially the food, live music, and museums. I love exploring and having adventures wherever they may be found.

The inner world of thoughts and ideas is equally exciting, and I enjoy history, science, and especially philosophy. Discussing these things with friends is one of life’s great pleasures. I’m looking for friends here—friends who can become family over time.

I’m looking for friends and family. See, I was adopted as a kid, and I never knew my biological family. My adoptive family disintegrated over time, but I still hope for bonds with people who can become CHOSEN families.

Maybe you were adopted and are also looking for something like this. Perhaps you never had a brother but always wanted one. Maybe you want a father figure to lean on who will look out for you and make you laugh. I’m a great listener; my unconventional life has given me a unique perspective I’d love to share. Maybe you need a son to take care of or share advice with. I’ve generally been immune to good advice, common sense, and parenting efforts in the past, but there’s always hope :) Come on and give it a shot.

For me, it’s like this: if I could have picked any era to live in, I would have chosen prehistoric times, a hunter-gatherer culture. In those times, a person's spirit was nurtured from birth within a close society of family, friends, and a small circle of highly interdependent tribemates. Their people were immersed in their own mystic cosmology, and their lifestyle demands required people to nurture and trust each other. Faith in their community was embedded with their mother’s milk. So much more than now, these people lived without doubting their value or place in the universe. I want that world very much.

I’ve always had an adventurous spirit, a generous heart, and a sense of humor, and I see the good in people. My day job is teaching at the Education Department, where I help people get a GED. It’s thrilling when they succeed. But art brings me the most peace, joy, and satisfaction. My inspirations are the Italian and Dutch masters. I could study them for hours at a time.

I draw and paint portraits, and art is my focus and passion. I feel that art is the way I can bring good and beautiful things into the world. I also want to write a book.
