Hello, my name is Caleb. If you stop scrolling for a moment to read my profile, I hope you will feel the sincerity in my words. I have been on a journey of saving my life and reclaiming my freedom for over 10 years now. There have been some low points, but I have always considered myself an optimistic person. Patience is a definite virtue that becomes very fine-tuned when incarcerated. The court system takes time, so you learn the art of waiting. Who I was 10 years ago is not who I am today. I've allowed God to work in my life, and today I consider myself an asset rather than a liability. Where a bitter man once resided, now lives a gentleman who is a man of empathy, compassion, love, kindness, generosity, and loyalty. I love to smile and make others smile. I do have a sense of humor :-) And I'm told I can be rather funny at times. Smiling often and laughing daily is like medicine to my soul.
The most beautiful and precious blessing in my life is my 14-year-old daughter. I miss her terribly, and I pray for the day we will be together again. I try to be the best father I can be and a friend she can trust. I am serving time in another state, where my family does not live, so visitations are not as frequent due to the distance involved. The phone calls and emails are how I keep in touch with my family, which keeps me going. I thank God every day for them.
The hardest thing to deal with as the years go by is LONELINESS. Loneliness is like being at the bottom of the ocean; no one knows you are there. I have never been a lonely person until I became incarcerated. As the years accumulate, people tend to stop writing. But, despite that, through God's strength, I have always continued to persevere, pray, and stay focused. I am hoping to meet someone like-minded as I am. I'm unsure what kind of relationship we may form here, but I am open to seeing where it goes. I pray I meet a friend, but to say I am not open to more would not be accurate. What human does not want love in their lives?
I hope I hear from you and write to you soon.
