Normally, having some time to sit back and do whatever ain't a bad thing. However, spending too much time reflecting on our past can be a problem, which is what I did for too long. Then I found these words of wisdom: "Guard your heart above all else, for from it flow the springs of life...Keep your vision forward, your eyes on what goes before you...And your path will be established" - King Solomon. Reading that made me realize something: dwelling on my past only left me with wasted time and a heavy heart. So, I decided to look towards my future.
Currently, I am in college and will soon graduate with a Bachelor's degree. At the same time, I'm becoming a better person— someone who's strong and assertive, yet also loving, honest, and direct, while being considerate, courageous, and bold, all while remaining humble. Pursuing a better path in prison is difficult, but it does have its funny moments —it's like middle school with men who never grew up! On the other hand, the conversations are usually dry and non-meaningful.
Now, I better understand the importance of having someone to talk to on a more intimate level, someone who cares to learn about you. Here, I hope to find someone who is sincere and wants to have meaningful conversations. I've become an excellent listener, and I value openness and honesty. I'd love to get to know you.
