As you read this, I would like to start by saying thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. As an incarcerated individual, currently housed in Pennsylvania, I have learned just how precious time is, and that makes me appreciate that you have chosen to spend some of it with me. Hopefully, there will be an opportunity to share more if you find something that interests you.
The first thing I can tell you about myself is that every day, I wake up looking for ways to better myself, whether that be through the way I interact with those in my life or by practicing and honing my craft as a barber. I wish I could tell you that I'm successful every day, but there are times when I fail. It’s during these times that I'm thankful to have such a strong support system to help me work toward the goals and dreams I have for my future. My family and friends are very important to me, and it's with them that time seems to fall away. Whether that's spending time with my boys or having conversations with my mother, it's all a part of what makes me who I am.
Here, I keep myself busy working as a dog handler, training dogs to become service animals. I am also a barber and a barber student, earning my license while teaching as a barber instructor, and working in the audio/video room of the activities department. When I'm not working, I make time for activities that help me stay balanced. This means going to the gym 5-7 days a week and making time to express myself through art. All in all, it's this balance that keeps me moving forward and staying positive.
I've made mistakes and have had to pay a price, but I've never let my circumstances define me; I've only ever allowed them to reveal me to myself. Thank you again for your time; I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Please note that mail may take up to two weeks to reach me. For prompt attention, we recommend using the email system.
Thank you,
