I never would have imagined that I would find myself in prison, let alone find myself reaching out to a complete stranger from behind these walls and bars. By the time this is posted, I will be 30 years old (August 21). I grew up on the beautiful coast of Southern Maine, which fostered my true love for the water and outdoors. My love for the water quickly sparked my interest in Kayaking, triathlons, and competitive swimming. I also love to cook. Shortly before adulthood, I started working as a lifeguard and EMS provider at local beaches and fire departments.
I have an insatiable desire to learn, and have furthered my education in multiple directions. Along with my experience as a provider and educator in emergency medicine, I’ve obtained my BA in communications with a minor in Sociology from Ashland University. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was inducted into the National Communications Honor Society. Most importantly, I am a certified paralegal, providing legal assistance to fellow inmates. I plan to attend law school in Maine upon my release.
In the past, my judgment has been, admittedly, questionable; however, I have nine years of experience behind me, which has helped me grow mentally, emotionally, and academically. I am constantly striving to grow from the mistakes of my youth towards success in the next chapter of my life.
