Hello, my name is Lazarus Clyburn Dawson. While I take full responsibility for my past, I want to make it clear that what I’m in prison for does not define who I am, nor does it represent God’s final calling for my life.
I believe that even in my mistakes, there is a miracle — a purpose within my mess-up. I see this time as a season of learning, reflection, and transformation. I was raised in the church and have always been a man of God. My faith guides me daily, and I look forward to the day I can walk in freedom and continue serving the Lord with everything in me.
I am a clean-cut, well-put-together, and respectful man, known for being gentle, kind, and understanding. I’m also educated, holding an associate’s degree in American Sign Language Interpretation, and I even had the honor of giving a TEDx Talk at Attica, which you can find on YouTube.
I believe that the woman meant for me—whether a friend or someday a life partner—will also be a woman of faith, and together, we will honor God in our lives and in our love.
Please remember this: I am not my worst decision. I am a living testimony of God’s grace and transformation.
Be blessed,
Lazarus Clyburn Dawson
