Hi, I’m here because I miss the art of actually getting to know someone. There’s something different about writing—the kind where a conversation doesn’t have to be reduced to a few words, an emoji, or whatever can be squeezed in between distractions. I like people who are curious, a little unpredictable, and can talk about everything from completely ridiculous observations to the things we usually only admit after midnight. As for me, I’m a man with a sense of humor, plenty of opinions, a few good stories, and an appreciation for women who have stories of their own. I’m interested in what makes people tick: where you’ve been, what you’ve learned, what you still want to do, and what you find fascinating that everyone else seems to overlook. I don’t care whether we have everything in common. In fact, that might get boring. Teach me something. Challenge my perspective. Tell me about the strange hobby, questionable adventure, obscure fascination, or completely irrational opinion you could defend for hours. I’m not looking for a hundred superficial conversations. I’d rather find one or two people who make me genuinely curious when I see their name on a correspondence.
