Seeking pen friends will respond to all.
In a society that writes and posts every minute about themselves, I still find myself one of the more difficult topics to write about. Having been in solitary confinement 20 out of the past 22 years, I missed that whole social movement.
My initial motivation to begin writing was to put food and water on the table. Anyone who has tasted prison food in Arizona or the nasty water that comes out of the faucet will understand.
Fortunately, I discovered a vacant niche/genre 'up to date resources for people in prison' (Google me for more info).
Over the years I've received numerous letters from readers stating how the resources had really helped. Now I enjoy writing not only for the money, but knowing the information changes lives for the better.
After 20 years in solitary confinement, and being forced to use snail mail, Arizona prisons are implementing JPay.com tablets with limited email capabilities. These tablets have changed every social aspect of captivity. Guys who never heard from family members now receive emails regularly, including photographs and videos of family members they have never known existed.
For me, email means I don't have to pay a typist to type what I write from my handwritten pages. The kids still don't write.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon,
George
