Love, support, and encouragement are necessary motivating factors for one to make a complete transformation. We need love and relationships to begin the process of healing and to keep us from recidivating. To break the cycle of crime, the most powerful weapon is love!
Failure's not fatal and lost causes are the only ones worth fighting for! People overlooked are often people we need to hear from. We can't just shun others when they make a mistake!
Evil runs through everything, not around some things, and the only way evil succeeds is if good people do nothing.
"If only there were evil people somewhere, insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate... and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?" [Philosopher]
Johnnie Cochran -- pretty decent lawyer ;) -- once said, "We owe each other a duty of honest conversation about all things that unite us and divide us, and a promise that we will open ourselves to the possibility that, in reasoning together, we may change each other for the better." Barbara Brown Taylor adds, "We should be recruiting people who've made terrible choices; to invade the most hopeless lives and fill them with light." It's nice when someone sees your value.
Me -- I like to inspire others to reach their full potential. I'm an advocate of helping incarcerated people find support networks and wrote a book for this called; Reckless Love: Prison Penpals (Penname: Tyler Durden). I'm also a Criminal Justice Activist, Paralegal, Mentor, and more.
Since my incarceration I've had many jobs helping others; GED Tutor, Instructor for self-help classes; RTP Aide for mentally and physically disabled people, and more. I've also been educating myself in everything possible. Though I do still have a little bit of a dark side!
I trained and rescued over 20 dogs in 3 programs: RPSM Rescue Dogs, Seeing Eye Dogs, and Rescue Greyhounds. I recently became a Certified Canine Specialist, earning my diploma with honors through Stratford Career Institute. I'm also working towards becoming a Social Media Strategist from the same institute, and finally, building my brand; Reckless Ink.
Among other things, Reckless Ink helps innocent incarcerated people get the legal help they need, but otherwise cannot afford, so they don't have to spend another day in prison.
Reckless-ink.com or Recklessink.org (Site is active, but not yet completed). Our mission statement at Reckless Ink is:
"Injustice anywhere is no different from a crime. We help support Innocent people locked up so they don't have to do anymore time."
