Salutations! About fifteen years ago a mental breakdown brought out the worst in me. I allowed anxiety to eclipse good manners and common sense, severely hurting someone close to me. Everyday regret and sorrow linger as permanent reminders of how precious life is and how valuable time proves to be. I once told myself, “It can’t get any worse than this prison” then came covid and my perception changed.
Amid the uncertainty, moments are more intense, more meaningful! I questioned my purpose and longed for companionship. Oratorically, I sometimes struggle to find appropriate words to express myself, but overall, my heart is good, and it doesn’t take much to put a smile on my face.
My accomplishments during incarcerations include successfully completing the Inside Out Dad Program, Long Distance Dads Group, Restorative Justice program, UW - Madison Project, Cognitive Processing Therapy Program, ServSafe Protection Manager Certification (expires 4-27-2022), Institution Food Production Certificate, Moraine Park Technical College, Culinary Assistance Technical Diploma, M.P.T.C. (3.894 GPA) last year 2020, I obtained a 4.0 GPA making the President’s list through Milwaukee Area Technical Colleges 2nd chance Pell Grant Program, working towards an Associates in Science.
Unfortunately, Covid hit, and we went on lockdown. I caught the virus, felt overwhelmed, and chose to take a break (as I await transfer to a minimum-security institution).
Race does not matter, I’m open to women of all ethnicities. Organic farming and Marine Biology pique my interest, along with most things outdoors!
Thank you for your time and attention. Progress, Be Resourceful, Rise Above!
