Hello,
My name is Scott Mason, but everybody calls me “Mason”. I’ve been locked up for 31years, I’ve done time in San Quentin, Old Folsom, Washington State, The Feds, and Life in Virginia without parole. I’m the baby of four brothers and two sisters. I started taking acid when I was 10. I used to hitchhike to South Cruz and San Francisco to buy acid when I was 11-12. I ran away when I was 14 because I didn’t want to do drugs anymore. I drove a stolen bike from San Jose, California, to Fayetteville, Arkansas, and woke up from being high to reality. I lived and worked on a ranch with some good, down-to-earth Christians. I’ve been in every state west of Arkansas, lived in 5 states, Northwest religion, I’ve had so many different pets (friends) from barking chipmunks, squirrels, a baby black bear, chicken, turkey, deer, I had a pet mouse, grasshopper, and a praying mantis while in prison. I enjoy reading sci-fi, espionage, western, and nonfiction books. Favorite books are: “The Count of Monte Cristo”, “3 Musketeers” (both books), “Memnoch The Devil” by Ann Rice, and “Where The Red Fern Grows." I enjoy listening to rock and I love country music, but I don’t listen to it because it makes me depressed, bringing back memories of the mountains.
I'm just looking for friendship. I've been locked up for a long time, and I’m outdated. I don’t understand what’s going on out there and what I hear people in here say… It scares me, the wars, the coronavirus, people not getting along; it’s all so overwhelming. Many people come to me in prison to resolve situations or discuss their problems, and I’m told I offer sound advice. I don’t know, I just want to see people better themselves. I also enjoy drawing and sewing.
Thank you for your time.
